L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Haircare Review
So helloo guys. As you can guess from the title, today we are reviewing the recently launched L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Haircare line. The whole line is created on a very unique concept. L’Oreal claims that the line is specifically designed to cater to people who have oily roots and dry ends. I feel like a lot of us fall under that category. There are four products in the extraordinary clay line. I received three of them via Influenster. So let me do a quick disclaimer here. The Influenster campaign for these products ended a while ago actually. So I am not really reviewing these as part of that campaign or for any hidden benefit. It’s just that I have had a chance to test these out thoroughly now and so I wanted to sit down and do a good ol’ honest review on them.
L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Rebalancing Shampoo
Not to be a negative Nelly, but I’m going to have to start off the post on a bad note. I did NOT like this shampoo at all. Actually, let me start off with the good. This shampoo and the entire line smells amazing! If you’ve used L’Oreal hair products before then you will definitely recognize the amazing scent. It had been a while since I used anything L’Oreal in my haircare and this scent took me back to my childhood. It reminded me of my aunt’s bathroom. Her bathroom would always smell amazing because of the tons of L’Oreal and Pantene products that she’d have in there back in the day.
L’Oreal claims that with use of this line, hair is supposed to stay cleaner for longer and you wouldn’t have to wash it as often. Firstly, that’s completely untrue. This did not extend the cleanliness of my hair from 24 to 48 hours as per the claim. But I can let go of that because I use dry shampoo in my hair anyway starting on the second day. Secondly, I know that the whole premise is that they are using clay to clean and ‘rebalance’ the hair. However, it honestly made my hair soo DRY every time I used it. This shampoo didn’t make my hair softer or smoother or more nourished.
I also feel like my hair got more easily tangled because of how dry and stripped it felt. Don’t get me wrong, this product isn’t unusable. I just make sure to put coconut oil in my hair for a couple hours before I use the shampoo.
Miscellaneous: You can find this at most drugstores now. I’ll link it here. The good part is that this is extremely affordable at 4.99 USD if you wanted to try it.
L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Rebalancing Conditioner
The same points about the pleasant scent apply here. But again, I am disappointed in the conditioner as well. This just didn’t condition my hair as well as I wanted it to. My hair is very fine and it shouldn’t be hard for any conditioner to soften it well. But this one just didn’t. My Aussie 3 minute miracle conditioner does a better job than this one.

L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Rebalancing Pre-Shampoo Mask
Just when you thought I was going to hate on the whole line, here comes a redeeming product. If there was one product I’d recommend picking up from this line, it would be this. The pre-shampoo mask is supposed to be used on dry hair before you shampoo. You massage this thoroughly into the roots and then rinse it. I really liked this mask! It cleaned my hair thoroughly. I loved the texture as well. Like a whipped clay mask. I usually use this on the weekends. That’s because throughout the week, there is a lot of product that gets built up in my hair. By the end of the week my hair is like 70% dry shampoo haha. So this product is perfect. Additionally, a lot of us don’t have much time during the week days to do a pre-shampoo treatment and such. So this is best reserved when you have more time to do a little extra TLC. And I definitely have to give props to L’Oreal for bringing out an innovative product. I had never heard of a clay mask for the hair before this.
The one disappointing factor about this mask is that you do have to use quite a lot of product in one use. And for that reason, I feel like this tub would run out very quickly. That is not a huge issue though considering that this is very affordable and not something you’d use regularly. Also worth mentioning that even with this treatment, used alone or in conjunction with the whole line, I did not notice any lengthening in the time between washes.
Miscellaneous: You can find this at most drugstores and retails for $6.99. More expensive than the other items. I’ll link it here.
So that’s it loves! I hope you enjoyed this post about the new L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay haircare line. Please let me know if you’ve tried any of these and what your opinions are. As always, thank you so much for taking the time to read the post. Until the next one ..
