Blue Brown Eyeshadows: Affordable Dupes
You know when you have one of those days when you just want to play with makeup? Go through things in your collection? The swatching, the testing, the smelling is such a fun thing to do on those relaxed days. I was having one of those today, taking pictures, arranging, playing with makeup. When suddenly, a blog post inspiration hit. In the last couple years, we have seen a tremendous rise in the ‘duochrome’ eyeshadow trend. Specifically, those pigments of the blue brown variety that we all love. I’ve seen those in some high end makeup. The Manny Mua x Makeup Geek palette had a similar shade (the palette was Limited Edition). Urban Decay has that blue brown shadow called Lounge. The most expensive one is found in the Natasha Denona Star Palette I believe. And perhaps the most famous is the MAC pigment that is very aptly named Blue Brown. But of course, if you know me and my blog, you know I try to bring as many affordable options into the mix as possible. So, today I am going over a couple affordable dupes for those popular blue brown eyeshadows that look oh so stunning on the eyes.
Blue Brown Eyeshadows Dupe 1: Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette
The top most color you see is the MOST PERFECT dupe for all the high end blue brown eyeshadows. This shade is a part of the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette and is the last shadow in the palette (2nd column, last shadow, these don’t have names). As far as quality goes, this palette from Wet n Wild is so wildly popular and with good reason. This palette is living proof that drugstores don’t have an excuse to come out with ‘meh’ palettes anymore because they’re cheaper. NO. This palette is so amazing in quality and yet is only for $5.00! I know this post is about blue brown eyeshadows, but I could very well make it into a rave review for the comfort zone palette. So about the particular shadow, it of course is a crazy pigmented, duochrome, blue in some, brown in some lights kind of a shadow. Honestly, this looks STUNNING on any and all eye colors and skin tones. And that’s why it is such a popular shade that several companies make.
Blue Brown Eyeshadows Dupe 2: Wet n Wild Plaid to the Bone Eyeshadow Trio
In a surprising turn of events, the next dupe also comes from Wet n Wild. I feel a little odd writing about it because this dupe is from their Plaid to the Bone trio which was a limited edition palette from their Fall 2016 line. However, the purpose of me writing about it is to make anyone who owns it aware of the gorgeous last shade in the palette which is a blue brown duochrome. If someone were to stumble across this palette on Amazon, or eBay or anything, please make sure to get this trio! All the three colors in the trio are phenomenal. If you were to compare the two WNW shades from the two palettes I’ve mentioned, the one from the Comfort Zone is a lighter blue with tons of brown. The one in Plaid to the Bone is a darker, deeper blue with darker but a touch less amount of brown. Both are equally gorgeous! It just depends on which one you already own or can get your hands on. Plaid to the Bone trio was also very inexpensive and retailed for around $3.00 back when it was in stores.
The last shadow I have included here is the NYX Prismatic Single in Jaded. When I first looked at it, I thought it might actually be another blue brown eyeshadow, but turns out it is not. However, it is in this post because, if you see it’s color (swatched above the finger swatches), the bluish green eyeshadow is similar to the bluish green tone of the shade from Plaid to the Bone – just minus the duochromeness if that makes sense. So if you aren’t a fan of the duochromes, this might be another option for you.
That’s it loves! Hope you enjoyed this quick post on some dupes for the popular blue brown shadows. I know most of it was from Wet n Wild and I know that that brand is hard to get a hold of outside of the States, but so far, those are the only shadows I have found which dupe the higher end ones I mentioned in the intro. If you have found other dupes, please let me know. Also feel free to let me know what you think of these shadows, if you have tried them, etc. As always, I can’t wait to see you in the next one. Until then ..
