Jouer Long Wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipstick Review

Hello loves! If you’ve been aware of the various tags going around Instagram, then you know that a lot of people are doing their roundup of 2016 beauty favorites. I’m doing them too. The first category I posted on my blog and Instagram about is my favorite foundation. So if you missed the review of my favorite foundation of this year, then you can check it out here. Today, we are talking about the second category and that is Liquid Lipsticks. Now, I fancy myself a bit of a liquid lipstick connoisseur and I feel like I’ve tried quite a few brands of liquid lipsticks. As the title may suggest, my absolute, all time, holy-grail, favorite liquid lipsticks are hands down the Jouer Long Wear Lip Creme liquid lipsticks. Let’s chat about why I think these deserve the top spot.

Jouer Long Wear Lip Creme: Review

You guyys. I don’t even need to talk about this aspect do I? I mean seriously, would you look at those stunning stunning tubes? I can easily tell you that these are perhaps the most luxurious looking liquid lipsticks I own. This is one product where I actually give two hoots about the packaging because it is just impossible to resist feeling proud at owning these gorgeous tubes – they are heavy, made of glass, sleek, modern and structured design. I cannot explain it, but I promise you if you held one of these in your hands you’d immediately understand what I was saying. So needless to say, packaging 10/10. Its not too bulky, its sturdy enough for travel and since its glass you can obviously see the color of your lipstick through it.

Product Description
“This weightless, long-wear liquid lipstick offers full coverage color with a soft-touch finish that glides on smoothly and lasts all day.” – Jouer

These retail for $18.00 a piece and each of these liquid lipsticks comes with 0.21 fl oz of product. These can be bought from their website if you’re in the US, and possibly from Cultbeauty if you’re in the UK. They do ship internationally.

Shade Range
These come in 25 different shades and two different finishes – 6 metallic and the rest are regular mattes. Now this is probably the only category where I can point out a con. I personally don’t wear metallic lips so I’m not talking about that aspect of the formula/shade today. But, in mattes, somehow, weirdly, even though there are quite a few colors in the range, most of them are the kind of shades that I think aren’t exactly suited to the deeper skin tones. Maybe I’m wrong. But on my NC42, medium-tan skin tone at least, I can honestly pick out only two – tops three shades that I think would suit my complexion. P.S. I own the shades Cerise and Noisette (red and brown pictured above) which hands down will work for everyonneeee. If you asked me to pick one, I say get Cerise. This is the kind of red that will make you an instant showstopper. It screams glam in a very elegant way. If I had to lose all my red lipsticks and keep only one, this would be it.

The Jouer Long Wear Lip Creme liquid lipsticks are the BEST liquid lipsticks in my opinion. These are your typical, ever so popular, matte liquid lipsticks. However, I think that the finish and formula of these is unparalleled. When you put these on, they feel very smooth, they glide so easily and with a TRUCKLOAD of pigment so the opacity you get is unbelievable. Probably my favorite aspect of these lipsticks is the finish – they are matte, but they look like that velvet texture on the lips that you only ever see on celebrities. I have never found a lipstick to give me that kinda finish. It instantly lets the whole world know that you’re wearing an expensive and fabulous product on your lips. Google or Youtube anyone’s lip swatches of these lipsticks and you’ll see what I mean. These feel so comfortable to wear on the lips and like I said, they make your lips look so good, not like a typical matte lipstick that can often tend to make the lips look like a pair of pruny raisins.

Notice the title of these – Jouer Long Wear Lip Creme. They haven’t put the long wear part in here for gimmicks. This is in actuality the longest wearing liquid lipstick ever. I don’t claim to have tried all the millions of formulas out on the market, but I am almost certain there are none that surpass the staying power of these. And these are 100% transfer proof. I’ve kiss tested, food and drink tested these and I am happy to report, these pass all the tests. Now of course, these will start to fade after a few hours of wear, but there’s no product that doesn’t. The good part is that these fade beautifully, not like in crumbles. So you can easily reapply these after say 6-8 hours and you’ll be good as new.

I have swatches of Cerise and Noisette down below. Cerise is a gorgeous pink toned red and Noisette is that typical 90s brown.
