BareMinerals BareSkin Serum Concealer Review
Helloo loves! As we approach the end of the year, we may catch ourselves thinking of all the great beauty products and discoveries from this year. I know that for me, there have been some amaaazing discoveries this year which I’ve tried my best to share with you all either on this blog or on my Instagram (@neighha). This was the year of concealers for me. I’ve tried quite a handful of concealers this year and you can probably guess from the title which one ended up to be my favorite. So without further ado, let’s talk about why the Bareminerals Bareskin serum concealer was a winner this year.
Bareminerals Bareskin Serum Concealer
Really simple, really classic concealer packaging. The color of the concealer is easily visible in the tube so that’s good. The applicator is also a run of the mill doefoot and does the job like it’s supposed to.
I find that a beauty sponge is the best method of application for this product.
There is a shamefully small shade range in this range of concealers. Which surprises me considering how well established this brand is. But oh well. Some things’ll never change. For reference, I am in the shade Tan and I have an NC42 type of skintone.
Here comes the good part. To start off, let me just say that I would recommend this concealer to most skin types except the extremely oily gals. That’s because this concealer has a very very liquidy consistency and doesn’t necessarily set down into place like say the Tarte Shape Tape does if you have that one. Myself, I am a dry skinned girl so this concealer is even better for me since it gives quite a bit of hydration to the skin. I think that if you swatched this concealer in store, you might just think that this is an average concealer. I know that that was my thought when I swatched it in store. However, this concealer shows its true beauty when you actually wear it on the face. I love the fact that this is so lightweight and yet it has a very solid medium coverage. I have several several problematic areas on my face that need to be concealed and this does that so well. Of course, this is not something to reach for if you’re looking for a full coverage, cover up a tattoo or a stubborn freckle type of a thing. But possibly the best part about this concealer is that it works as a traditional under eye concealer, but it also fares so well on just the spots around the face despite it not being a very thick full coverage concealer. In fact, this is the only concealer I trust that if I wear to school, or to a presentation or a job interview, that it won’t look obvious on my skin at all but it will cover up what I need it to and yet give an amazing skin like finish. This does’t crease at all and if you find that it does on you, maybe try doing a bit of light baking to ensure this stays in place all day without creasing. In fact, there have been days where I’ve only worn this dotted around my face without the need to go in with an actual foundation. That is actually my favorite attribute about this concealer; it can easily pass off as a sheer foundation for the face and look virtually undetectable.
This product retails for $21.00 and can be found either on Ulta, Sephora or on the Bareecsentuals website. In fact, what’s even more amazing is that I only got this product for $10.00 during Ulta’s biannual 21 Days of Beauty Sale. I cannot believe what a steal this was. I’m obviously going to work to finish up this and a bunch of other concealers that I have; but if this goes on sale at Ulta again, you can bet I’m getting backups.
As we always do, I’m going to summarize the attributes of the Bareminerals Bareskin serum concealer with a quick pros and cons list.
1. Lightweight, fluidlike consistency
2. Doesn’t crease
3. Lasts well throughout the day. Max of about 6-7 hours of wear time.
4. Extremely skinlike finish on the skin
5. Good for under eyes, spots, blemishes etc. but can even be worn alone on the face without foundation for everyday.
6. Solid light to medium coverage leaning more towards medium. All moderate cases of blemishes, dark circles etc can be solved with this.
7. Very easily blendable.
1. May not be suitable for very oily skinned girls.
2. Price is a little high up there.
3. Unsatisfactory shade range.
4. Not a complete coverage concealer as the name might misleadingly suggest.
There you have it loves! All in all, I would give the Bareminerals Bareskin serum concealer a solid 9/10. I hope you enjoyed reading this quick review. Please come say hi to me on Instagram as I do a ton of more quick reviews over there. I hope you all have a wonderful New Year and I hope to see you on the other side :*
