Ulta Mini Haul: June 2016
Hii you guyyss! So I know it’s Tuesday and you’re probably already tired of the week and cannot wait for it to be over. I feel you, trust me. Well, maybe reading or just browsing this post will help cheer you up. After all, who doesn’t like looking at more shopping inspiration? Amiright amiright? Well, then. If you saw my last Glossier haul, you’ll know that I’m doing a mini series where every Tuesday, I blog/instagram what I’ve been hauling recently. Keeping up with the theme, today’s post is going to be an Ulta haul. There were some things that I had my eye on and the moment I saw them on sale, I placed my Ulta order. So, let’s take a look at how I spent more precious moolah on frivolous things 😀
- Conair Infiniti Pro 1875W AC Motor Dryer
You know when we always go into a store to buy that one main, actually necessary thing? It’s a different story that we end up with more stuff in our carts than our wallets can handle. Well, recently my roommate moved out and we used to share a hair dryer. So my trigger for the Ulta haul was this hair dryer. I was in dire and immediate need of a hair dryer. And after much research I realized that that hair care industry is even worse than the skin care industry. For any halfway decent tool you’re supposed to be ready to shell out upwards of a hundred dollars. I mean what the hell is that all about? And I mean I’m okay with using drugstore/inexpensive makeup because well, it’s makeup. It washes off. But skin and hair care are two things where you need to be quality conscious. Anyway, the point of my whole rant is after much research, I found that the only good quality hair dryer at an affordable price was the Conair Infiniti Pro. And I found that it was the least expensive at Ulta. Thus started my forage into the magical world of Ulta shopping. Now, I couldn’t really tell you any technical details about this product. But here’s a list from Ulta’s website of what the benefits are with this dryer:
- Up to 3x longer life
- 1875 watts
- Lightweight design
- Up to 75% less frizz with ionic technology
- Ceramic technology
- 3 heat/2 speed settings
- Removable filter, true cold shot button
- Hang ring
- Concentrator and diffuser attachments
- ETL listed
- Limited four year manufacturer’s warranty
- Bonus: Paddle brush included
Miscellaneous: The dryer retails for $29.99. Can be found here.
- Andalou Naturals Turmeric Enlight Serum
I have had my eye on this serum for a while now. Those of us born and brought up in India have always been made aware of the magical brightening properties of turmeric. And turmeric really does work to brighten up your skin. There are many DIY masks that you can make that incorporate turmeric in them. If you’ve seen my previous blog posts then you know my love for the Ole Henriksen Collagen Booster serum. I repurchased that serum twice. Ever since I finished that second bottle, I have been on the hunt for another vitamin c serum that performs as well. When I saw that this skincare line is completely natural and this serum, which said it had turmeric, vitamin C and bunch of other ingredients that help to fight UV damage and help brighten the skin, I was sold. And this skincare line is seriously on the affordable side. Extra points because Ulta is having a sale on this entire range.
Miscellaneous: The actual price is $24.99. But because it was on sale here, I got it for $19.99. I am so excited about this serum!
- Pacifica Super-Kale Juiced Up Shampoo
You’ll notice a little bit of a theme throughout this haul. A lot, or I should say all of the skin/body care products I picked up are from natural brands. Lately, there’s been a huge shift in the market where everyone is starting to become skeptical of a lot of name-brands for their not so beneficial ingredients. And if you truly want to pick out good skincare, you have to be able to read and discern ingredients listing and decide for yourself what would benefit or harm your skin. With natural/organic skin care lines, this task becomes that much simpler because you can trust that these brands are using good ingredients. Word of advice though: not all brands claiming that they are natural are actually natural-with any product that you pick up, make sure to do your homework. And of course, that’s also what blogs, bloggers and reviews are for as well! Holy crap, I went off on a complete tangent. Back to this shampoo. Pacifica is another well-known natural brand. I received a couple of their products from Ipsy and that’s how I got introduced to this brand. I was in need of a new shampoo ever since I used up my OGX one (empties post coming soon 🙂 ). And I knew I wanted to try a sulfate free shampoo to see if it improved the health of my hair. So I picked up this Pacifica Super Kale shampoo. It claims to be deeply cleansing, volumizing, nourishing etc. so I was intrigued to try out this shampoo. I will keep you guys posted on how I like this shampoo.
Miscellaneous: It retails for $10.00. Can be found here.
- Pacifica Underarm Deodorant Wipes
You guysss!! I sound like a freak but I am so flippin’ excited about this product. Okay, so I’m not a particularly sweaty person. But a) I live in freaking Texas b) At school, I work in a lab where I have to constantly wear long pants and appropriate safety attire because well, it’s a lab. So, even if I put on deodorant before heading out the door, I need something to refresh my pits over the course of the day (so sorry about all this TMI lol). That’s where these fabulous underarm deodorant wipes are going to come in handy. These would be perfect for anyone who’s out the door from 9 to 5, students who go to school, for immediately after the gym, for any person or occasion really! I cannot wait to test these out. Oh, and sticking with that natural theme again, these are aluminum free as well. For anyone who doesn’t know, there’s been research that the aluminum we have in our regular deodorants is carcinogenic. Personally, I don’t care too much, everything these days will give you cancer. But it sure is nice to have a natural option though. These come in three different fragrance options too.
Miscellaneous: These retail for $9.00. I did find that these are pricey for being 30 deodorant wipes, but we’ll see. Anyway Ulta was having a BOGO 50% off for Pacifica, so along with the shampoo, I got these wipes half off. Linked here.
There you have it guys. A quick look at some of the things I hauled from Ulta. Hope you have a fabulous rest of the week.
Keep shopping babyloves,
