Body Shop Mini Haul: June 2016
Helloo guys. It’s Tuesday, so you know what that means. Yesss, it’s time for another #takemymoneytuesday haul. I don’t know about you but I’m one of those people who is always very happy to spend money consistently but in little amounts. That’s why I rarely ever buy any luxury makeup items because then I would just have to starve myself to death to cover the expense of like one lipstick. There rarely ever is a time I shop without some kind of a sale to justify my very real hoarding/shopahaolic problems. So taking you along on my shopaholic journey, today’s post is going to showcase a few things that I picked up quite a few weeks back actually when The Body Shop were having one of their sales. I’m just now getting around to blogging this haul, so my sincere apologies for the mahoosive delay. Don’t fret, The Body Shop is always doing one or the other sale, so if you’re in the market, just wait for one of them sales. By the way, I was expecting my Colourpop order to come in today and I’m so sad that USPS once again has let me down. Oh well, I can wait. It’s not like I don’t have enough eyeshadows in my life to play with in the meantime. Seriously, who in their right mind owns so much makeup? I doubt I can wear it in my entire lifetime. This whole makeup hoarding is more of a collector’s thing for me really. And I don’t think I’m the only one. Anyyyhoo, back to The Body Shop haul. Let’s do this.
The Body Shop Haul:
- The Body Shop Chamomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter
If you are even half a skincare fanatic, then you’ll know how much the skincare industry has turned towards cleansing balms, cleansing butters, cleansing oils instead of the plain old giant-ass alcohol laden cleansers that we were used to back in the day. Well, many of the so called balms, cleansers etc. are also very expensive. Now I don’t know about you, but on a broke university student’s budget at least, I can rarely, if ever afford those expensive ones. Fear not. The Body Shop is one of those brands where you’ll find stellar skincare at the most genius price points. It’s a no-brainer. Thus, after looking at the skincare goddess Caroline Hirons recommend it as her number 1 and the fact that it also turns out to be inexpensive, how could I pass this up? So I picked up the Body Shop chamomile cleansing butter. As the name suggests, it is a butter consistency cleanser, that you scoop out a little bit of and massage it on to your dry skin. It literally melts off all of your makeup, dust, grease, grime, city air, everything. And trust me, when you’re wearing a full face and have had a long day at the office or a long night at the club, the last thing you feel like doing is tugging and washing and stinging your face with cleansers that dry out your skin. This butter feels luxurious to slather on your face and is seriously soothing. These are just my initial thoughts after having used it three or four times. I will have a full review of it up sometime in life, but I doubt it matters; this has been raved about by every other blogger out there.
Miscellaneous: Retails for $16.00 (cloth not included). Can be found here.
- The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Clay Mask
I have been hearing for so long from the webworld how tea tree is an amazing ingredient for your skin, and how effective it is on acne, blemishes etc. And I don’t know what took me so long to get on to bandwagon, but hey, better late than never. Seeing that I’m always struggling with a few blemishes and some bumpy areas on my skin I decided to pick this up on a whim. You will not believe the amount of positive reviews that this product got on the body shops website. It is listed as one of their best sellers. I looked at the ingredients list, and although I didn’t completely understand it, there was nothing in the ingredients that alarmed me or made me think this product is not worth the hype. So I’ve decided to give this a shot. If it works, then great. If it doesn’t, then I just have one more affordable clay mask added to my collection. No loss no harm.
Miscellaneous: Retails for $17.00. Can be found here.
- The Body Shop Minerals and Ginger Warming Massage Clay MaskSpeaking of adding more clay masks to my collection, here’s one more haha. This one however, came highly recommended again by Ms. Hirons. According to her, and of course according to the product description, this is a mask that warms up on contact with wet skin. During the time you have this mask on, you will feel a warming sensation on the skin. This mask is meant to draw out all the gunk and impurities out of the skin, much like a traditional clay mask. Although clay masks can sometimes be drying on the skin, this one is marketed for all skin types so we’ll see how that goes. Personally, I am very excited to see if this mask works.
Miscellaneous: Retails for $18.00. Can be found here.
- The Body Shop Mango Shower Gel
This one is pretty self explanatory. Last year I owned a hand cream by The Body Shop in the same mango fragrance and I fell in love with it (see my review of the hand cream here.) Ever since then, I have been a fan of the delicious mango scent. And it is not one of those overly sweetened fake mango smells either. Trust me, I’m from India, where mangoes are native to the land. So when I say this scent smells amazing, believe that it really does. Beyond that, I really have no particular reason to pick up this shower gel besides the fact that I needed a good smelling cleansing agent for my body.
Miscellaneous: Retails for $10.00 for 8.4 fl oz. Can be found here.
So there you have it guys. A very skincare/bodycare oriented haul from the body shop. Please pray that my Colourpop order arrives soon and I can do a haul post on it next 😀
Much love and kick ass this week,
