Simple Micellar Cleansing Water: Review 2016

Okay, so you’ve seen a variety of bloggers, youtubers etc etc. do endorsements for this product over and over on all social media platforms, and you start to become skeptical, and quite frankly, just annoyed. When a product gets so much hype and exposure from sponsorships, you start to doubt whether it actually works or people are just doing it for the money. Well here’s the thing. I’m a small tick in the web full of bloggers, no company knows my name or cares what I say, and I’m not paid to write any of this. Hence, as I’m writing a standalone review of the Simple Micellar Cleansing Water, you better believe that I think this product is fantastic.

  • What is the concept of micellar waters? – Micellar waters contain ‘micelles’  which are tiny oil molecules suspended in water. These micelles are actually attracted to grime, dirt etc. on your skin. They adhere to these particles, and as you dab the micellar water on a cotton pad and sweep it away, the dirt grime etc. also gets swept off of your face.
  • Why is is different or better than regular cleansers? – Well first of all, you won’t believe the sheer convenience factor of micellar waters. Since you don’t actually have to wash your face afterwards, it becomes so easy to get into the habit of using these. All you have to do each morning or night is take some of the solution onto a cotton pad and wipe it across your face. It’s not necessarily better than your other cleansers, just more convenient and equally as effective.

  • Why I Love Simple Micellar Cleansing Water

For anyone in general, but especially for a college student, this product is brilliant. It has saved me so much time, energy and effort, I cannot even begin to tell you. On those days where you’re super late in the morning, and you don’t have time for an over-the-sink soap and water rinse, use this instead. One cotton ball, a few drops of this product, swipe it on your face and you’re golden! There have been times when I have first done a full cleansing routine at night with my sonic cleansing devices without having worn a shred of makeup during the day. You would imagine that since you didn’t wear makeup in the day and even cleansed properly in the night, your skin should now be squeaky clean. WRONG. Try to test this. After going in with your cleanser, try to use this product. It will STILL be able to pick little traces of dirt and grime and you can see your cotton round getting muddy. This product is GENIUS.

Since it’s meant to be left on your face, it gives your skin so much hydration- it is almost unheard of for cleansers to give you so much hydration. I primarily use this as a first step cleanser when I am wearing makeup. After taking off most of makeup with this, I’ll then go in and wash my face with my cleanser to clean my skin. Of course like I mentioned, if I’m having a lazy day or if I’m only wearing eyeliner as my makeup, I’ll just use this for my cleanse. It leaves my skin so soft and plump afterwards, it’s a glorious feeling. And, this is going to be perfect to use in the intense Texan summer because it feels so refreshing on the skin. Ingredients wise, I am not too sure of how sound this product is. Since I am not a dermatologist, I won’t even pretend I understand anything about the pros and cons of the ingredients. I always base my reviews on how my skin feels after using a product. And believe me, I am already on the second bottle of this product as you can see from picture above- I have one empty and one repurchase bottle of this.

The Simple Micellar Cleansing Water is the only kind of micellar water I have ever tried and I love it. This is can be found at most drugstores, I bought it on sale at Target. Of course, do your own research and find a micellar water that suits you. I love this one because it performs well and is very budget friendly. Good job Simple! Well worth the Allure Best of Beauty Award.

Have a fabulous skin day loves,
