Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster: Review

Six words: Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster.

Do you need it in your life? Absolutely.
Is it worth the price tag? Absolutely.
Would I repurchase? This is in fact the second bottle I’ve emptied.
How to use it? Under your moisturizer; during the day.
Now, I am not a dermatologist by any means of course, but from all the research I have done and my personal experience, I’m going to try to describe the pros and cons of this product. See my previous raves about this product in other posts here and here.

Product Description:

If you’re not already aware about the hype surrounding this product, I’ll do my best to explain. The Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster is essentially a Vitamin C serum. In general, it is best to use Vitamin C during the day. It is also packed with antioxidants, collagen which will help boost brightness, plumpness of your skin and improve hydration. This is basically the marketing story.

My version– All of the above claims are a 100 percent true.
Texture– The texture of this serum is what attracts me the most. It is so lightweight and hydrating-yet it has that slightly viscous serum-y texture that definitely makes you feel like it’s a heavy duty treatment. It moisturizes so brilliantly, on some of my busiest college days I’ve worn just this on my face and headed out the door. And this is coming from a person with chronically dry skin.
Results– The results this serum gives are worth every single penny. Like I mentioned before, this is my second bottle of it. And for me to invest so much in a product twice is really unusual. In the first few days when I started wearing this serum, I had about three or four people comment that my skin was looking healthier and that I was looking different and a much ‘happier’ person. And trust me, I was no less no more happy than usual, it really was the glow that I got from this magic potion. When people with perfect skin recommend products, you sometimes can’t judge if it’s just their good genes or the product that’s the cause. With me, you don’t have to worry. I have had mildly problematic skin most of my life and I’m constantly trying to do new things to it. So when a person with problematic skin is recommending a product that helped brighten their skin, take it as a good sign.  The major result for me has been brightness, but apart from that, this really has made my skin plumper. This must be the collagen boost that the company talks about. Since I’m doing my first standalone post on this product, needless to say, this one is a gem.

Cons: The price may be a con for some. But trust me, I think it’s a worthy investment for anyone who’s above the age of 20. Another thing that worries me is how my skin is going to behave now that I have run out of this product. Product dependency of the skin is a very real concern. Sure, you can repurchase this over and over, but I wanted to try a new serum so I haven’t repurchased this yet.

Final Thoughts: The Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster is one of the hyped up products that actually work.

Miscellaneous: Can be found at Sephora. The 1 oz retails for $48.00.
