Empties: Part 2 February 2016

Hello loves! I’m having so much fun writing this post because I’ve gathered so many empties-especially sample empties over the past few weeks. Most of these are skincare samples. I got enough uses out of them that I’m able to give a pretty good review about which ones I think I might buy the full size of or not. A couple of the products are not samples but I’ve just thrown them in the mix. Let’s begin.

  • Maybelline Masterdrama by Eyestudio in Midnight Master
Let me just start off by saying this product is discontinued. I have looked for this eyeliner over ten different times in my drugstores. Even on many online sites it says this product is no longer available. Having said that, if you’re able to find this anywhereeee, and I mean anyyyywhere, get it. This is one of the best eyeliners I’ve used. I haven’t used any expensive eyeliners or anything, but I know in my heart I don’t need to. The drugstore has fabulous eyeliners, and honestly, when it’s on your eye, no one can really tell if you’re wearing a five or fifty dollar eyeliner. Okay, specifically about this product, I love it because it is so dark, so creamy, and it literally stays on your eyes for 12+ hours-this is my personally tried and tested fact. It is retractable, which means it does not need sharpening and the best part is, it’s completely matte. So it doesn’t give you that glossy shiny eyeliner look, which I personally do not prefer. I rarely ever try eyeliners which need to be sharpened regularly because I find them to be a bloody hassle. All in all, this eyeliner is the bomb. My next mission is to find something as good as this.
Miscellaneous: It is discontinued now, but the original price point was around $5.99-7.99

Skincare empties

  • The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream
I took this sample packet with me when I went on vacation to Mexico. This sample lasted me a good four to five uses which is really handy when you’re travelling because you don’t have to lug around huge tubs of moisturizer. Considering that this is a sample size, I can’t give you my full thoughts. However, from whatever I gathered by using this, I loved this moisturizer for its consistency and how well it absorbed into my skin. It was also super calming and nourishing. I can’t tell you how important this fact was because when you come back to the hotel from an entire day of water sports and activities in the sun, you really want a soothing moisturizer. I don’t know if I’ll buy the full size of this considering I have so many other moisturizers but this is definitely a good one if you’re looking to buy some TBS products.
Miscellaneous: The full size retails for $20.00
  • Klorane Smoothing and Relaxing Eye Patches
If your under-eyes are looking dull and crapey, this is your must have! I don’t know if it really works any magic on your eyes, but I do know it refreshed my eyes instantly. It just lifts them up, hydrates them and has you looking like you are super fresh and awake. I love how pampering this feels on your skin. I used these when I was on a flight, and it was the perfect time to use these since flights always make your skin extra dehydrated and tired looking.
Miscellaneous: $24.00 for 7 sachets on Sephora. I got these as a point perk from Ipsy.
  • Freeman’s Goji Berry Facial Hydration Mask
I don’t have much to say about this mask. It is a nice mask for a quick skin refresh and it is only for a couple of bucks at the drugstore. It doesn’t do anything spectacular for your skin and I wouldn’t necessarily go out and buy a full size of this.
    Miscellaneous: Price is around $2.99.
  • Freeman’s Honeydew and Camomile Sleeping Mask
I love sleeping masks in general because I love the idea of putting on a mask for about 8 hours and have it work its magic on you so that you wake up with refreshed plump skin. The main thing I loved about this mask was how hydrating this was and the amount of product you get in this packet. This mask lasted me for quite a few uses and the cream is so nice and thick you only need a little bit each time. If I see this in my drugstores again, I will definitely pick another one up.
    Miscellaneous: Price is around $2.99
  • The Body Shop Nutriganics Drops of Youth Concentrate
This is one of the empties products that I’m positive I want to buy the full size of. I’m just waiting till I finish up some of my other skin care items so that I can make a bulk purchase from TBS. This concentrate or rather serum really did make my skin look super smooth and plump. This sample lasted my for about a week or so, and I immediately started noticing a difference. Again, I took this while I was away on vacation and it really helped to have this work its magic on my skin. You want to look your best when you’re away on vacation, and this definitely helped do that. I will have to buy and test the full size product to give a full run down of what this really does or doesn’t do for your skin. But this sample has definitely made me want to buy the full size. One thing to note is TBS prices are definitely up there with some of the high end stuff.
Miscellaneous: $38.00 from the The Body Shop website.
  • The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Day Cream
I don’t have anything special to say about this product. It was a pretty small sample. This was a moisturizer so it did what it’s supposed to do. I don’t know that it did anything fabulous for my skin in the few uses that I got out of it. If you’re an aloe fan, this might be a product to look into.
Miscellaneous: $20.00 on TBS website. You’ll notice that I have quite a bit of The Body Shop stuff here. That’s because I made a purchase with them like six or seven months ago (you can check out that haul here). With that purchase, they gave a few samples which I finally put to use when I went away for vacation. I usually save my sample for times when I’m traveling so that I don’t have to worry about airport rules of full size liquids, gels and stuff.
  • Lancome Renergie Lift Multi-Action
I’m going to say right off the bat that Lancome is such an expensive brand, I wouldn’t make a full size purchase by just using a foil packet sample if you know what I mean. I’d have to use atleast a deluxe sample to get a chance to judge this product and tell you if I would buy the full size. Having said that, I remember loving this cream while I was using it. It claims to be lifting and firming; I of course cannot vouch for that from this sample use. However, as a moisturizer goes, this one absorbed really well into my skin and had a super light liquid-y texture which I’m personally a fan of. So far so good. Let me know if anyone has tried this and if you liked it.
Miscellaneous: This retails for a whopping $97.00. Definitely not shelling on this crazy expensive number.

You might notice few more products in the featured image for this post. I have a few more empties to write about which is why I’m going to do an empties part 2, so that I don’t bore you with one long post. Stay tuned for that one 🙂 Follow me on Instagram and subscribe to my blog (direct links are to your right and at the bottom of the page) to keep yourself updated when a new post arrives.

Have a happy Monday loves!
