Sephora Haul: December 2015
So technically my birthday month is December, but, me being me, I couldn’t resist going out shopping on Black Friday. And I’m here to show you some of the things that I hauled. Considering that this is a Sephora haul, it kinda doesn’t matter that this post is late, Sephora doesn’t do Black Friday sales anyway. So, let’s get crackin’.
So some of these things I bought for myself, some I was gifted, and some I bought as gifts.
- Sephora Favorites Mascara Mania
I have two Sephora favorites kits to share with you. The first one is the mascara mania kit. It comes with seven mascaras that you can sample. They are:
Sephora Collection Outrageous Volume Dramatic Volume Mascara
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
NARS Audacious Mascara
Benefit Roller Lash Mascara
Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara
Buxom Lash Mascara
Kat Von D Immortal Lash 24 Hour Mascara
Pictured below is what the box looks like.
I had two main reasons to buy this kit. First of all, out of the mascaras offered in this kit, I have tried the Tarte one, and if you’ve read one of my empties posts before, you’ll know that this mascara is my ride or die. So the full size tube of the Tarte mascara costs $21.00 and I was ready to shell that money. However, when I saw that this kit has the Tarte mascara and a bunch of other ones that I’ve always wanted to try– It was a match made in heaven. Now instead of spending those $21.00 on one just mascara, I spent $29.00 and got to try a bunch of other ones as well. It goes without saying that these aren’t the full size mascaras, but I actually prefer sample sizes. Mascaras tend to dry out quick, so it is easier to finish up a sample size and not have it dry out on you. Plus they’re brilliant for travelling.
Miscellaneous: Only available at Sephora inside JC Penney
- Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation
My mom visited me over the summer break. While she was staying with me, she tried my original Makeup Forever HD foundation (the Ultra HD is the newest version). She fell in love with that foundation just like me. Because it is a pretty expensive foundation, she didn’t feel like buying a new bottle for herself and taking it to India. So, this time when I went shopping on Black Friday, I decided to gift her one, sort of like a Christmas present. I haven’t tried this newest version myself, but from what I’ve seen in reviews, this one is supposed to be even more bomb than the original. Life can’t get any better.
Miscellnoeous: Price point is $43.00
- Murad Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum
As Murad describes it, this is a “fast-acting dark spot treatment serum to help fade and prevent dark spots, age spots, and freckles.” The reason I bought this is because I have severe dark spots and hyperpigmentation. I was watching Teni Penosian on Youtube, and she had an amazing skincare video in which she talked about this product. Even though she was sponsored to talk about this product, I was pretty intrigued to try it. The online reviews on Sephora’s website were also raving about this product. So, I took the plunge and bought it. It nearly killed me to buy such an expensive number, but I figured that it is kinda that time where I start taking better care of my skin. So that’s my bullshit reasoning for this splurge 😀
Miscellaneous: Price point is $60.00 for 1 oz.
- Sephora Favorite Give Me Some Lip
This is the second Sephora favorites kit I want to talk about. This kit I didn’t actually purchase myself, it was a lovely gift given to me by my cousin sister a couple months ago. I didn’t blog about it until now because I wanted to do a cumulative Sephora haul. This kit comes with some of their best selling lip products:
– 0.08 oz Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment
– 0.10 oz Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lip in Lolita
– 0.10 oz Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi Gloss 202
– 0.03 oz Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème in Je T’Aime
– 0.068 oz Sephora Collection Rouge Infusion The Neutrals in 19-Peony
– 0.1 oz Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Coral Blossom
For me, this kit is worth the $25.00 just for the Kat Von D liquid lip in Lolita. I just tried that lipstick today, and ermaggaaad, it’s the most beautiful color. It even looks good on my hard to please skin tone and pigmented lips. I can’t wait to try the other products in this kit.
Miscellaneous: Currently available online on Sephora Canada’s website.
- Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Vitamin C Collagen Booster
This is another gift I bought for my mother. I haven’t tried too many serums, but I can honestly say this one of the best serums I have ever used. And I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of using it. This is one of those luxury skincare products that actually work – it’s not just pretty packaging or big words or empty promises-this product actually delivers. I finished a bottle of this magical stuff and you’ll see it in an empties post soon. However, ever since I’ve stopped using it, my skin actually misses it. No joke! I can rave on and on about this, but maybe I’ll save that for the future post. For now, just know that this is worth every penny. And sooo, I bought one for my mother when she said she needed a good serum. You know a product is the best when you buy it for your family.
Miscellaneous: Price point is $48.00
- Beauty Blender
I finally caved and jumped on to the beauty blender wagon. This is supposed to be one of the best sponges for makeup applications. It honestly better be the best, I almost felt ashamed to buy a $20.00 sponge. On the bright side, if I love this, I will never need another face brush again.
Miscellaneous: Price point is $20.00
Those of you giving finals, I hear your pain. Hope you beat the hell out of those tests. Those of you graduating, Congratulations!!!
So long lovelies,
