MAC Current Favorites

It is officially Christmas eve y’all!  So I decided to get this post up as soon as I could to show you guys some of my MAC favorites. It might serve as an inspiration on what makeup to wear during a Christmas party, or  New Year party or any such event you might be going to in the upcoming days. Recently, I added a couple of things to my MAC collection. Considering that it was my 23rd birthday just a couple days ago, I thought I could treat myself to one or two things from MAC. So, jumping to it, let me share with you some of my MAC current favorites.

  • MAC Prep+Prime Fix Plus
If there has to be one must have product from MAC, then it’s their fix plus finishing spray. This product mainly consists of water. So you might be wondering, why would you spend top dollar to buy a water mist? My friends, this is a magical water mist. I believe it has glycerin in it which helps soothe and soften your skin and give it the perfect glow. I love using this after I have finished my entire face of makeup. It finishes off your makeup beautifully, melts everything together so that your face looks like one big airbrushed canvas. If you struggle with makeup looking cakey on your face, this is your savior. I cannot rave enough about this product. I’ve heard that it now comes in a few different fragrances as well. You go MAC!
Miscellaneous: Available online or at Macy’s. Price point is $22.00 for the full size.

  • MAC Lipsticks
This would not be a MAC favorites post if I didn’t mention their iconic lipsticks. Currently I have four color options for you ranging from nudes to mauves to pinks. And if you’re patient enough, there will be a red option coming up next. So, in the picture above from left to right, I have:
Craving: A pinkish plum with an amplified finish
Whirl: A dirty rose with a matte finish
Twig: A soft muted brownish pink with a satin finish
Impassioned: An amped up fushcia with an amplified finish
These descriptions of the shades are straight from their website and could not be more accurate. I absolutely love their lipsticks. Everything from the color range to their different formulas are perfect. I do have one concern though. Everyone raves about how long lasting MAC lipsticks are and I just don’t agree.  Some of the MAC lipsticks wear off on me in a short amount of time. I don’t necessarily always wear lip liner underneath them so maybe that’s the problem. Even then, I think that if you’re paying big bucks for a tube of lipstick it better deliver. In any case, I love the lipsticks and I’m going to keep building my collection.
Miscellaneous: Price point is $17.00 each

  • MAC Lip Pencil
Remember when I said some of the MAC lipsticks are not as long lasting as I’d like them to be? Well, the lip pencils are a brilliant solution to that problem. Their original wooden lip pencils are sooo creamy, pigmented and long lasting. They are super easy to apply-they don’t drag on your lips nor do they dry out your lips. And the best part is, they are so comfortable to wear, you don’t feel like you’re wearing any heavy layers on your lips. I absolutely love these. There are some shades like Whirl, which are available in both lipstick and lip pencil form. I would, hands down, spend the money on the lip pencil if I only had to choose between the two. I will insert a picture below in which I’ve used the lip pencil in the shade Auburn. It is a beautiful dirty brick red and could be a great option for a Christmas lippie.
    Miscellaneous: Price point is $16.50
